I took Kaleah to the circus last night and as we were sitting there watching these people do all kinds of crazy stunts, the thought crossed my mind.."These are someone's kids. Somebody actually raised these kids up and they went off and joined the circus! How would I feel about that if that is Elijah's destiny!?"
Now, I know that the odds of Elijah actually joining the circus are low, but nevertheless.. that boy is going to do something off the beaten path. He is not afraid of anything, that's for sure!
Kaleah seemed to enjoy the circus, somewhat, but I'm pretty sure I'll try not to go again for a very long time. :) She was much more concerned about getting to meet the animals than she was about the performances... such an animal lover!
A couple days ago I switched on the furnace in our house and it didn't fire up. Hmm..."that's odd" I thought to myself. After trying the little tricks that I knew I determined that it needed professional help. After several minutes of troubleshooting, the repair man exclaims "I found the problem! Someone put rocks in the vent outside." It took me all of a second to figure out who that someone was. Elijah. $116 and a little heart-to-heart later, the furnace is up and running and we will hopefully not have any more rocks in the vent! (although if it stops working again, we will know where to look first!)
Tonight Jonas was actually almost laughing with excitement when I took him in his room to go to bed! That boy loves his sleep!! And he is an absolute PIG -- he frequently eats more than me and his siblings at mealtime. But he's always happy and he fills our home with tons of joy!
Shane is trying hard to convince me that buying a diesel Jetta will be a smart move for our family.... he's got a lot of work to do! ha!
Loving life... can't believe this is mine. :)

We are not pet people!!
We are not pet people!!
Well, we bought a fish today and it lasted about 4 hours. The kids named the goldfish "Goldie" and were quite enthralled with it. I thought we'd try something different after killing 3 bettas and having a cat (Marshmallow) for only 4 months. It has become painfully obvious that our family just cannot handle pets. :( I'm so sad for Kaleah, though, because she absolutely adores animals of all kinds. In fact, I would not be surprised at all if she became a vet one day. Anyway, we will not be adopting any more pets... EVER!
Elijah has officially potty trained himself! It just happened instantly when he wanted to have the toy "Gill" from Finding Nemo. Yay for toy bribery! We're still working on getting the hang of going potty when he has clothes on, but when he's home and naked, he's got it down!
Jonas is absolutely a gem of a baby. He smiles constantly and it always happy, except when he's sick. Then he just acts like a normal kid and fusses a little bit. He is SOOO close to walking -- it's going to happen any day now. He stands for a long time and looks at us and then finally plops down and laughs! It's so cute.
Kaleah has been inspiring me a lot lately with her "childlike" faith. She genuinely loves the Lord and she says things that just blow me away. Like the other day she prayed that the Holy Spirit would come and move as it once was. Wow. I asked her where she got it from and she said "I just knew it. I didn't hear it anywhere." She often talks about how she's excited to die because then she gets to go to heaven and meet Jesus. It's hard to know how to respond when she says stuff like that, but I'm thankful that she's so excited to meet Jesus. I hope it's not all just in the hopes that he'll turn her into a flying unicorn... :)
I'm hoping that I can update this online journal fequently. I really just want to treasure these moments I have with these precious kids God has given us. I am the luckiest mom on the planet.

Getting Started...
Well, I've decided to join the rest of the world and start a blog. I used to be really good at journaling every night, but now that I don't have the teenage angst that I used to, the journal entries have become few and far between. So, in my attempt to leave my mark on this world and to keep record of my kids' accomplishments, I start this blog. :)
